I thought I'd share it with you because it comes from "Joe Consumer", merely just giving an honest assessment of the BakFlip tonneau cover. I like it because it's raw and honest. I'd love to get a lot more of these sorts of honest videos posted, be they good or bad. I just think they're great! Let me know what you think? I might just launch a section on this site for folks that just would like to upload their story, issue, thought, findings etc. A consumer video feedback section may just be a great idea!

Honda Ridgeline tonneau covers come in all forms, be it soft or hard, however not all are equal. Certainly, I find the OEM Honda Ridgeline tonneau cover to be a complete abortion of a tonneau. To be honest, most of the tonneau covers for Honda Ridgeline out there are not very well thought out. Specifically, the Ridgeline is a truck that is configured dramatically differently to most conventional pickup trucks. Where all other trucks beds are higher at the tailgate and lower at the cab end, the Ridgeline is opposite. Where other trucks have rails to which you can clamp things, the Ridgeline does not. Where most trucks have a conventional cab wall, bulkhead rail and a metal bed, the Ridgeline has no bulkhead rail and has a composite bed with a trunk in the floor. All of these unique attributes present a design challenge for Tonneau cover manufacturers, none of whom really stepped up, including OEM until the release of the new BakFlip tonneau cover for the Honda Ridgeline.

BakFlip Tonneau Cover on Honda Ridgeline

The new BakFlip tonneau cover installs with no drilling, making use of the few provided attachment points along the side walls of the Ridgeline and at the cab end of the truck bed. Unlike the OEM Honda Ridgeline tonneau cover, the BakFlip tonneau cover for Honda Ridgelines take just about 20 minutes to install, instead of hours. Best of all, you need just a single star headed screw driver to do the whole job.

Honda Tonneau cover by BAK Industries

In addition, the BakFlip is the only hard tonneau cover that will wll you to use 100% of your Ridgeline bed. This stands the BakFlip alone at the top of the heap in a pile of sub par tonneau covers that have multiple flaws beyond just limited access. All other hard tonneau covers for the Ridgeline that we tested proved to be a hinderance to the floor trunk when opening and closing it because the rails got in the way. Not so with BakFlip, who rails are slim enough to allow you to open the trunk with no problem.

Security in an issue when it comes to Ridgelines as their tailgates don't lock, but thanks to Poop n Lock and another company named Dyno Lock, this is no longer a problem. For a modest fee you can select form both manual or automatic locks.

While there are more than just a few tonneau cover companies in the USA, I can say with certainty that not all of the tonneau covers sold in North America are made in the USA. Even when certain tonneau covers are claimed to be made in the USA, much if not all of their components are actually made in places like China, which begs the question: Are these tonneau covers really made in the USA? In my opinion, they are not and it drives me nuts when claims to the contrary are made.

BAK Tonneau covers are made in the USA

One thing I know for sure is that all BAK Tonneau Covers are made 100% in the USA, by US citizens on US soil. Every nut, bolt, screw, rivet, rubber component and aluminum extrusion is supplied by US companies within the USA. There is not a single component in any BAK tonneau cover that is made in China or anywhere else other than the USA. It is my contention that doing so results in a far better product, with better control over quality and better customer support. Overall, consumer satisfaction is at the heart of the matter as far as I'm concerned.

As a matter of pride and a matter of quality, BAK Industries will always maintain a strict approach to ensuring that when we say our covers are made in the USA, there's no ambiguity or grey area on the issue.

I would very much like your opinions on whether you feel that tonneau covers that are comprised of components made largely in China should be allowed to be deemed or advertised to be made in the USA? Let me know what you think?

When it comes to tonneau covers that offer maximum access to your truck bed, most folks will entertain a retractable tonneau cover like the RollBak. One thing which is oftentimes overlooked with a retractable tonneau cover howver, is the fact that in order for the cover to retract it has to run on a set of rails. These rails generally work great, however they do affect the width of the truck bed. That's because most retractable tonneau covers rails extend inwards inside the bed. This can preclude the use of valuable accessories such as bed extenders, certain types of toolboxes etc.

BakFlip tonneau covers take up less space

A BakFlip tonneau cover is cut to follow the exact lines and contours of the truck bed. As such, the BakFlip sits on a rail that's less than an inch in thickness, ensuring that in addition to being the worlds only tonneau cover to offer full access to your truck bed, it also takes up less space from side to side. This added advantage renders the BakFlip the choice of folks world wide who rely on accessories such as bed extenders or who generally just need all the width and length that they can get out of their pickup truck.

I am asked by tons of folks every day if the BakFlip folding tonneau cover is available yet for these models. The good news is YES THEY ARE!

The fact is that while the new 2011 F-series trucks are indeed different to the 2010 models, the bed sizes have been kept identical. As a result, all BAK tonneau covers will carry over from 2010 to the new 2011 years. The BakFlip and RollBak tonneau covers will also work seamlessly with all Ford accessories that come standard or as options, such as bed extenders, tailgate steps, cargo management rail systems, tie downs and bedliners of all kinds.

BAK Industries produces the OEM Ford Folding Tonneau Cover for both the USA and Canada and as such, we've had the fortunate opportunity to have Ford themselves test the fit for approval. I am pleased to announce that the results have been fantastic!

Utility Trucks are really popular with contractors. Contractors carry tons of tools, both large and small. So it would seem odd that tonneau covers for utility trucks are not that widely available. The pickings are certainly slim, especially when it comes to a Utility Truck Tonneau Cover that will live up to the every day wear and tear that a utility truck endures.

RollBak tonneau cover for Utility Truck

With this in mind, BAK Industries decided to lend some focus to producing tonneau covers for Utility Trucks. The result has broadened the spectrum of great tonneau covers available for utility trucks. BAK now makes both RollBak retractable tonneau covers for utility trucks as well as the BakFlip hard folding tonneau cover for utility trucks. Both offer tremendous security, vital for any contractor looking to lock up valuable tools. Better yet, both are hard tonneau covers that allow easy, instant access to all your gear in the back of your utility truck.

When you need your utility truck bed, just retract or flip your BAK tonneau cover out of the way. This way you get full use of your truck bed as it was intended when you decided to go with a Utility truck, rather than a pickup. You also still get the unique advantage of having a rock solid tonneau cover that performs on every level whenever you need it.

Check out this video of the new BakFlip folding tonneau cover for Utility Trucks.

The Toyota Tacoma is a truck with a unique bed. First off the toyota tacoma has a composite bed. In addition, it has a cargo management track system that can present itself as quite tricky when it comes to installing accessories like tonneau covers. Lastly, the rails of the Toyota Tacoma are not straight, but rather taper towards the tailgate end of the truck. Also, the cab or bulkead rail and tailgate both sit about a half an inch lower than the side rails of the truck bed.

BakFlip on a Toyota Tacoma

BAK Industries design team took all these factors into account when designing the perfect tonneau cover for the Toyota Tacoma. The ultimate Toyota Tacoma tonneau cover had to work seamlessly with the composite bed, the cargo management track system rails and accommodate the strange configuration of the trucks rails. The end result is a specially modified BakFlip Tonneau Cover which integrates with all the Toyota Tacoma design elements. Take a look at the BakFlip being installed on a Toyota Tacoma in this video and post your comments below. Let me know what you think? I personally think it's a work of art!
