Some pickup trucks are built to impress and the Ford Raptor is certainly one that we at BAK Industries enjoyed getting to know. So when we decided to build a tonneau cover to match the rugged features of the Raptor, we decided to take the route of the BakFlip HD. Our reasons for taking the BakFlip HD route were based on the following factors:
1. The tonneau cover needed to be rugged enough to match the rugged nature of the Ford Raptor. The truck is super tough and there was absolutely no way we'd consider putting a soft tonneau on this amazing machine. We needed something all aluminum and built to withstand severe conditions.
2. The Ford Raptor Tonneau Cover needed to be STEALTH! It needed to be low profile, and not detract from the unique lines of the truck, that despite being built as an F150, is an entirely different animal. The BakFlip HD on the Ford Raptor cannot even be seen from the side of the truck and doesn't cover the unique bed rail caps. Since the running boards match the bedcaps on the Raptor, we felt that from an aesthetic standpoint, the tonneau cover should be all a tonneau could be interms of style, design and function, but not be in your face so as to take away from what Ford wanted to do with the Raptor. BAK did a stellar job of keeping it simple, while still implementing the most capable tonneau cover ever made.
Lastly, we felt that the tonneau cover for the Raptor needed to be cutting edge in terms of function. The new Raptor BakFlip is the only hard tonneau that allows complete access to the bed without removing it. It also integrates with all Raptor bed accessories and utilizes the Raptor tailgate lock in order to lock, providing incredible security.
The Ford Raptor Tonneau Cover by BAK Industries is as much a piece of art as it is a cover that is built to outlast the truck and function and perform as an OEM part.
