One more thing Julian,

I hate to ask because I think you provide a phenomenal product for the price you are asking but I was wondering if there is any kind of a military discount or if you know somewhere that would have one. Thank you in advance.

Hey Julian,

I really like the things I am hearing about the Bakflip Covers and I would like to purchase the HD model for my 2006 Toyota Tundra but I have a question before I go ahead and purchase one. My truck bed has a spay on bed liner and it has been sprayed up over the bulkhead or front bed rail. With that, I was wondering what I can do to get a good seal without having to grind off the bed liner.

HI Kevin,

To my knowledge the BakFlip HD should have the glow in the dark handle, albeit not that important.

Also, the rubber seals will flatten beautifully with heat.

Just received and installed my new Bakflip HD for a 2011 Toyota Tundra. Is it supposed to come with an emergency glow handle? Reading some things on this website show it, but does this model come with it? Does the rubber by the hinges on the outside always look higher than the rest of the rubber going down the sides? Or does it need adjusting? Closes fine, just wondering. Will the sun help them flatten out also?

Keith,

You do not need to make any changes or modifications at all. You don't need a replacement tailgate cap either. The BakFlip will work perfectly with the truck just the way it is. You don't need to worry.

Best,

Julian

Am I to understand that if I have a newer truck (As I Do) a 2011 silverado that the cover will not fit right because of the swept up design of the tailgate cover? I like the cover and can't image you making a product that requires replacement! I was on my way out to buy the bakflip HD but will not do so until I hear back.

Hi Tom,

The REV cover will now be made from Fiberglass reinforced polymer (from January 2012 onwards) on top with an aluminum substrate underneath, much like our F1 cover. In addition, all critical install components will be concealed. The hinges have been updated to be able to handle more torrential rain conditions and a newly designed rail seal ensures better overall water resistance as well. Outside of these features, there's little overall else that's different, outside of the longer warranty. BakFlip products are all made to high standards and are all made in our factory in the USA where we have full control over all critical elements. As such, I can honestly say that regardless of the direction you choose to go in, you're sure to be a very happy camper with any of our products.

Hi Julian,

I have an F-250 that I am looking at putting a folding tonneau on. I was looking at the Bak Flip HD and the Ford OEM by Rev Ind.

I understand that REV is indeed Bak Flip. What are the differences between the Bak Flip HD and the Rev Ind. tonneau made for Ford (other than price - $1,069 and longer warranty - 3 years - for the Rev. version)?

I would like to install one of these soon before the snow flies, so any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Tom

Hi Julian I just got my new truck yesterday with the Bakflip and man it looks sweet! I have a bed extender and it blocks the drainage holes in the rear of the box. I can probably re-route the drainage tubes to a different hole but I would need a 90 degree elbow. Do you guys stock those and if you do, do you ship to Canada?
Thanks!

Daryl,

Please use the black bumpers as bumpers and NOT SHIMS! Call BAK at (818) 365-9000 or email oscar@bakliner.com and ask him for shims. Either way, they'll ship them to you right away.
