Racks and tonneaus for Honda Ridgeline
For the longest time now we've been asked whether we can recommend a rack that will work with a tonneau cover for the Honda Ridgeline. Even though our BakFlip CS system provides folks an unparalleled advantage for most trucks, the Honda Ridgeline was always one that seemed to stump us. So, I was really thrilled recently to learn that a new rack system had been developed by a company called Vantech. It would seem that they offer a very nice array of racks for the Honda Ridgeline.

As great as the Ridgeline is as a truck, it seems to lack in the way of accessories. The good news is that this is America and our challenges seem to breed innovation. Vantech seems to think there is an issue with the two installed together, but I don’t see why …

They say: “Note: The Gen2 system will not work with factory tonneau and bakflip covers. An attachment is being developed right to allow the rear doors to open by Fall 2010′.”

I think they may have a concern with the uprights of their racks causing an interference with the BakFlip panels being able to fold. Personally, I don’t see this as that much of a big deal. With the understanding that the two products aren’t made by the same company and that beggars can’t always be choosers, sliding the rack uprights slightly forward or giving the cover a little rub as it folds past the uprights is something I think most Ridgeline owners can live with.
